Dental implants replace lost teeth with a crown, bridge or denture that is held in place by the implant. Implants can last much longer than other replacement options and help to prevent the bone loss that is normally associated with losing a tooth.
How implants work
A dental implant serves to replace a lost tooth, or multiple lost teeth. It is made of biocompatible titanium and is placed in your jaw, where the bone essentially grows into the dental implant. Once healing has occurred the implant provides the foundation for a crown, bridge or denture.
